Last Saturday I ended up back at my regular tattoo parlour. Im currently in the process of finishing my arm (sleeve) off. Then I had that thought, if I could go back and change my first tattoo what new ideas would I have.
It dawned on me that I couldn’t think of any new first tattoo ideas. A persons first tattoo can be the one they hate the most. That being said, an old friend of mine at the age of 14 somehow managed to get a tattoo. Her first tattoo idea was the batman symbol. Yes, the bloody symbol batman shines in the sky! Nevertheless, she has regretted it to this day – I personally don’t blame her. Its even located on her lower stomach, above her waist. She must have wanted a ride in the batmobile (lame joke).
But we all have our reasons, and I’m sure that my first tattoo has been frowned upon (on many occasions). However, in comparison to the simplistic stars and generic tattoo designs mine was/is a masterpiece.
If you’re wondering what the hell was my first tattoo idea aka this ‘masterpiece’, unfortunately I’m not going to tell you. Well, just yet.
First Tattoo Ideas for Men
Not that I am already opinionated about first tattoo ideas. But, I believe that if you’re male and thinking ‘hey my first tattoo ideas are tribal patterns or my football clubs logo’ please exit this page immediately. Saying that, you’ll probably have exited due to the lack of imagery. The tribal tattoos are an example of a clinically insane narcissist. Narcissists lack a sense of self altogether, so when it comes to thinking up first tattoo ideas; the thought of a bunch of swanky swirls/lines (otherwise commonly known as tribal) down their arm probably turns them on.
Unique first tattoo ideas for men are favourable. Who doesn’t like being unique? Apart from the ginger whom sat at the front of the class to avoid bullying. Nonetheless, I bet that ginger girl/guy realised how unique and different she/he was years later. And, probably laughed at the thought of ever wanting to to be like the general mob. The same goes for your first tattoo ideas.
If you think that you’ve found a cool new first tattoo idea, it probably would be wise to Google the crap out of it. The world is a big place. That doesn’t mean your new tattoo idea hasn’t been thought of before, but steer away from the flashcards clearly downloaded off the internet. Flashcards are just tattooists being lazy.
Anyway, the majority of people don’t really need help coming up with their first tattoo ideas. But, thinking back to all the crazy ideas a few have does make you wonder what runs through their mind. Just make sure your first tattoo ideas are different, unique and a generally a good idea.
I managed to endear 4 hours of tattooing that Saturday – I probably spent the majority of the time on instagram. But, I was surprised at the number of people who walked in looking to cover up their ‘first tattoo ideas’. I believe 5 in total. Apart from that, my arm looks freaking amazing. Feel free to hit me up on twitter, to let me know what your first tattoo ideas were ;).
