Get off tinder players. If you have somehow secured a date (hopefully not using these tinder chat up lines) you will enjoy this post. Especially as it relates to mens fashion, and ideas about what you could be wearing on your up-and-coming date.
I highly doubt that within the last couple of months you haven’t been targeted on Facebook by sponsored ads promoting various clothing brands. Or that you haven’t received a promotional email from an online clothing retailer (i.e. detailing new t-shirt ideas for summer). Lately I’ve been targeted the shit out of through various social ads. Apparently I’m the ideal target market. The thing is, as much as they’re correct I rarely click on these ads despite how tempting they are. Anyhow, I’m ranting slightly. But, if you hadn’t noticed from these ads and emails Spring is over and Summer clothing is back.
If you’re feeling a little lethargic because of the weather, fear not the rain won’t persist. Optimistically you’ve all made plans for the summer, as such I thought I would announce my new monthly blog category.
T-shirt of the month with new t-shirt ideas
You can never have too many t-shirts. I cannot think of anything better than receiving a free t-shirt. Notably at events/conferences. Who cares if they’ve got your competitors logo on them, they’ll come in handy at some stage. As I thoroughly enjoy purchasing t-shirts/finding new tees I thought I would add a new monthly blogging theme – t-shirt of the monthly (containing various t-shirt suggestions and styles).
Through this brilliant post I believe you will find inspiration when expanding your Summer wardrobe. For this first post I am privileged to recommend an up-and-coming brand called I Sunk Your Battleship.
I Sunk Your Battleship
I’m not referring to the game you used to play at school, or the drinking game at university (battleshots) rather the unique clothing brand. Though in all fairness I envision everyone reading this who has ever had a chance of playing battleshots at uni enjoyed it as much as I did. Nonetheless, you’ve probably seen I Sunk Your Battleship floating around on a number of men’s lifestyle and fashion blogs.
If you haven’t they’re an indie brand inspired by Britain’s naval heritage. Using old school naval visual languages they’ve created a unique brand with some awesome designs. In all seriousness. How many times have you seen some shitty replicated font or logo on a t-shirt? I know I’ve seen a lot. Anyway, ISYB (for short) use a range of symbols and visuals to really stand apart, unlike these brands.
One thing I generally detest about some indie brands are that they use the worst materials. Subsequently after a few washes your white t-shirt somehow has turned slightly greyish, and lost its apparent colour. On the other hand, ISYB use quality material and have made sure that their sizing/cut are spot-on.
The brand not only offer a great range of t-shirts, but also have some great hoodies and beanies. Feel free to look around their website. Pro-tip: they sometimes have bank holiday discounts so make sure you follow them on twitter!
Stay tuned for more t-shirt ideas and suggestions next month. And, make sure you check out some of my other mens lifestyle posts.
Thank you for reading!
